چکیده

We have investigated the transport properties of multiplicative and additive noise driven spatially periodic system. The phase difference between periodic potential and periodic function in multiplicative noise term and the cross-correlation between multiplicative and additive noise can break the detail balance of the system independently to produce directed motion. The magnitude of current due to phase difference is smaller in comparison to cross-correlation between the noises. The phase difference can be used to control the direction of the cross-correlation induced current. Another interesting observation is that there is a current inversion with increase of cross-correlation time ðtÞ. The current increases linearly with the strength of cross-correlation. r 2006 Published by Elsevier B.V.

Escape through an unstable limit cycle driven by multiplicative colored non-Gaussian and additive white Gaussian noises.

In a previous paper [Bag and Hu, Phys. Rev. E 73, 061107 (2006)], we studied the mean lifetime (MLT) for the escape of a Brownian particle through an unstable limit cycle driven by multiplicative colored Gaussian and additive Gaussian white noises and found resonant activation (RA) behavior. In the present paper we switch from Gaussian to non-Gaussian multiplicative colored noise. We find that ...

Effects of colored noise on stochastic resonance in a bistable system subject to multiplicative and additive noise.

The effects of colored noise on stochastic resonance (SR) in a bistable system driven by multiplicative colored noise and additive white noise and a periodic signal are studied by using the unified colored noise approximation and the theory of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in the adiabatic limit. In the case of no correlations between noises, there is an optimal noise intensities ratio R at which...

Stochastic resonance in a piecewise nonlinear model driven by multiplicative non-Gaussian noise and additive white noise

The phenomenon of stochastic resonance (SR) in a piecewise nonlinear model driven by a periodic signal and correlated noises for the cases of a multiplicative non-Gaussian noise and an additive Gaussian white noise is investigated. Applying the path integral approach, the unified colored noise approximation and the two-state model theory, the analytical expression of the signal-to-noise ratio (...

Phase transitions induced by noise cross-correlations.

A general approach for treating the spatially extended stochastic systems with the nonlinear damping and correlations between additive and multiplicative noises is developed. Within the modified cumulant expansion method, we derive an effective Fokker-Planck equation with stationary solutions that describe the character of the ordered state. We find that the fluctuation cross-correlations lead ...

Stochastic resonance in a linear static system driven by correlated multiplicative and additive noises

In this work, we investigate the signal transmission in a linear static system driven by correlated multiplicative and additive noises. When the input signal is periodic, we depict the stochastic resonance (SR) phenomenon by employing the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) theory; while the input signal is aperiodic, we describe the SR phenomenon by using the input–output cross correlation theory. And...
